yep it will work. Pci-e 3.0 is just a new faster version then 2.0, but I don't think any cards currently even take advantage of it

Thanks I guess i should of researched if 3.0 would work in a 2.0 slot first before posting didnt think about that till after lol. Think the card said min 500w was needed. I have a corsair 650 so i shouldnt have any problems right? Running i5-2500k cpu

Not that it makes any difference Sandy Bridge does not support 3.0x16, though Ivy Bridge does.
Saw a review on a 7870 LE card, might be worth waiting for, reviewer felt it was more a 7950 LE performance wise at cllose to 7870 pricing.

Jeez that card was $240 earlier this week and $220 after $20 rebate! I wouldn't buy it for $290. Have you considered buying used on the forum? You could get a 7950 for cheaper then that used ir a 7870 for around $200

Its 290 through amazon, newegg has it for 239. I ended up picking it up for $229 with free shipping no rebates needed. Looks like its out of stock again, that didnt last too long

Limited supply card. Retailers didn't have many to start with.
