Hello,

Basically i built a pc last year but had a friend install my liquid cooling which came with the case. Its been a year and i have to change the coolant but I am having jitters. My friend is out of the country for a year :(.

My liquid cooling is very basic, the case is ( thermaltake kandalf lcs), I do not have a t-line so putting the liquid that way is not possible.
Can i just somehow take the Reservoir dump all the liquid through that, then when system is empty of fluid just turn it on and pour new coolant through the reservoir? Just wondering how would i remove bubbles this way? and would it work?
 
rofl. take out your cpu block over the sink and just unhook the barbs and let the liquid drain down the sink if you dont plan on re using it. also, you'll have to let it run a while before all the bubbles are out. and make sure you run the water cooling system for at least an hour before you run your system so you can check for leaks, leaks can kill everything. good luck!
 
Also will this method fully remove any liquid thats in the pump, since I have to remove the system out. Also how do I thoroughly clean everything out so that tje old fluid isn't stuck anywhere.

yeah swifttech is good quality coolant that came with case is garbage. The green original very light color turned into a not clear color about 6months ago. Now the liquid is very dark, plus it says 6 months on the bottle and its been a year.

Sounds like some crap was in the rad from the factory. If you drain it, based on what you have said, I personally would consider blowing a weekend and disassembling the the system and cleaning the ship out of everything. I bet you will find your hoses stained and they will need to be replaced or at least cleaned with a bottle brush. Soak the rad in vinegar etc. and flush the hell out of it with a garden hose and then rinse in distilled water. Many posts on cleaning crap out of a loop. A quart of white vinegar and about 4 gallons of distilled water and a clean bucket will do the trick. Lots of posts on what fluid to use. I am a less is more guy on that. Distilled water (only) in my old school system. My sig system has Tt coolant in it and other than to top it off it seems OK after almost 2 years now. My point is that if you go ahead and clean it well since you are going to have to tear it apart anyway, you wont have to do it ever again.

I wonder, does the PC sit where direct sunlight hits it during the day ? Just curious as to why the Tt coolant (assuming) would change color. Mine seems stable but the PC gets no sun.

Whatever you do, make sure the pump is never run dry not even for a few seconds.
