Ok i recently bought HGST 4u60 which needs 8644 cables.. so i bought Dell SC8000..
After some googling it's apparently LSI 9208 16e rebranded..

Problem is, i have no experience in flashing or dealing with SAS card..
I've updated the card to the latest firmware using the files here
https://www.broadcom.com/products/storage/host-bus-adapters/sas-9206-16e

Do i need to flash it to IT mode or something? here's my specs

Motherboard : Gybagite GA B150m ds3h
Processor : Intel i3 skylake
Ram : 8Gb ddr4 corsair
SSD : Kingston 120gb + windows server 2012 R2 datacenter
SAS card : DELL SC8000 or A.K.A lsi 9206-16e

I put in 8tb and 6 tb hdd into hgst but it wont read it..

thanks

old question, new answer.
if you have gen2 hgst-unit, you need sff-8644 to sff-8644 cable. it will work at 12gbps speed.

if you have gen1 hgst-unit, you need qsfp+ (sff-8436) to sff-8644 or sff-8088.

either way, your card can be in IT mode or raid mode.
but, your hdd's are not recognized probably because you use non-hgst or non-wd drives.

officially 4u60 unit suppprts only hgst or wd drives. but....i have also gen1 unit with 2 seagate sata600 drives, 3tb and 10tb. both are recognized. i read that gen1 unit with some version of firmware is accepting seagate hdd, too. i have to check which firmware my gen1 hgst has.

i have 9201-16e in IT mode with sff-8436 to sff-8088 cable.

i will give you update on monday about firmware version
