Hi guys,

I recently bought a new motherboard (msi z77a-g45), and on the back it says pci express gen 3.

Today i ordered and received a sound card (Asus xonar DG pci 5.1) but the ends do not match my motherboard? Is there anyway I can fix this? I need a soundcard that is compatible with my motherboard, has amp, and is fairly cheap)

I bought the sennheiser pc-350 headset, and i've read that it needs a soundcard with amp to really perform. What is a cheap alternative close to the asus xonar dg at the same price range?

Appreciate all your responses!

as far as i can tell, you goofed up by ordering the DG pci. you'll either need to swap out your DG for a PCI-E card (for example) or search for a PCI-E to PCI adapter. i've only seen adapters for the other way though; people looking to use PCI-E cards in their PCI slots.

edit: this adapter looks like it would work http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Express-Adapter-Card-PEX1PCI1/dp/B0024CV3SA

might as well as just buy the DSX on newegg though in my opinion. price is about the same.
