Hey,

I have a 120GB IDE drive as my primary. I was hoping to add, and bought, a 160GB Sata WD HD. I just want to use the new drive for extra storage, no OS or programs. I have an MSI K7n2-Delta-ILSR mobo and WINXP Pro.

When I boot, I can go into a utility screen to set up an array. Inside there, the utility sees the new HD. Outside of it, the BIOS and WinXP don't see it.

What do I have to do? I have been looking through the BIOS hoping to turn SATA on or something, but haven't found anything. UGH! :)

Like I said, I just want to use the drive for storage, no RAID or anything like that. Is there a specific way to set this up in the array utility to get it to work the way I want it to?

Thanks!

You still need to format the drive

in xp --right click on my computer and select manage
when the management screen comes up click on disk management . then select the unformated drive and format it.. DONT SELECT YOUR 120 or you'll delete everything you've got
