so i left the pc scene for a while and came back only because my friends got me back into wow. i still run my old setup (with a minor cpu upgrade) -- 2.4ghz opteron, 2gb ddr3200, abit fatal1ty an8 (non sli), silverstone st60f 600w psu.

i got a msi 5750 to improve my graphic quality since i got a new 23" lcd. i installed the 5750 and the system would hang on boot. nothing shows on screen. i put in my x800xt and it works fine and plays wow at 19x1080...just not as smooth when in a city loaded with people.

ive read up on how video cards are power hungry and need certain requirements from psus. i checked with mine and its definitely capable of handling the 5750.

what now? please dont tell me that my card may be faulty.

@leemik. haha yes i did. it hasnt been that long!

@default. thanks. i was hoping it wouldnt be a board issue but oh well...

since it can be summed that this card is just not gonna work on my board, what budget card do you guys suggest so that i can play wow at 19x1080 w/ 4xaa 8xaf and details high? i like eye candy. im looking to spend as little as possible (older cards are fine with me, 7900gt ok?). my days of benching and oc'ing are done so high scores dont mean anything to me. i just need 60+fps with above graphic details.
