hey guys, long post, but plz read, need some help.... =(
heres the deal, my evga 6800gt, no mods, used to OC awsome, it used to do 433/1.197 stable for benchmarks no problem, heres a link:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=511878
that was in my last system, like a year ago, now something is seriously wrong, if I have clocks default new score is way better, like 4750(old default) vs. 5200(new default) but when I overclock, the more I overclock the slower, I think its memory clocks that are doing it. But what happens is, if I run it at x/x speeds, over say 410/1.05 in 3dmark it will "lockup" for 5-20 seconds at random times, some times only once, sometimes 2-3 times, during this lockup, the screen is locked no HD light or anything, but it will come out of it and continue the test like nothing happens, whenever it does this on a test the score goes to shit, for instance, I get like 4900 marks @ 425/1.17 now <----less than my default score
, but at like 400/1.04 I will get 5700, WTF is this about??
This is not a software problem, this has been ongoing through 5x windows installs for months, its gotta be hardware, and its not heat related....I've tried reapplying the HS's everything, temps are better than ever, no dust, whats happening? PSU maybe? PSU should be good its a enermax 420, not the best, but decent.
