hi guys, i recently join this forum not a long ago. i must say this forum is kick ass, alot of valueable advices and infos to newbies liek me lol. thign is i want to upgrade my powersupply due to the instablity of my current powersupply when i am oc or even have problem while playing ganes. i have a 500w supper flower modular power supply. everything seems fine except for teh 12v line is abit low. when idle its 11.7(read at bios) and when its loading its around 11.5~11.6v(this is at stock, not oc yet). when i oc my cpu the system wud hve locked up durign running program or not even boot up. the 12v line was really as low as non oc cpu (however when it loaded it was shown lower than 11.5v). i have x2 3800+, asus A8n-sli dlx version 1.02, 2gb gskill @ 2-3-2-5, leadtek 7800gt(at stock atm), sound blaster 2zs, dvico tv tuner, 2x sata hdd, 2xoptical drives, 4 fans (12cm).
my question is which powersupply should i get for this rig? i am looking at the silverstone strike 600w modular and the thermaltake pure power 680w. i heard there is problem between antec and asus. or is there any better one and better value for this rig
cheers

First, try a multimeter to measure the voltage.

The A8n and Antec NeoHE problems ahve been solved with the NeoHE a3 revision.

Of the two, easily the Silverstone Strider 600w. But, I doubt you would need that much. Try a Seventeam based unit, like the Coolermaster Realpower 550w.

thanx for ur early reply. I'd love to try it but sadly i dun have any multimeter. however i used same powersupply on 3 different boards. 2 amd and 1 intel. abit (an8-sli & asus a8n-sli dlx) and asus p5gd1 pro. i have same reading both on my amd boards (around 11.7 through bios and i cant oc on both boards, i used ram devider and all the steps required for oc). however i have a higher 12v reading on my intel rig (around 12v or above), i think due to single core intel not taking much power as the dual core. hyper-threading is enable btw. i live in australia so not quite sure which version of antec neo powersupply sold here. i'm plaining to oc my cpu around 2.5~2.7, ram and my gpu too. so i think the more spare power is the better for later. lolz. so u rekon that tt 680w is not worth of buying?
cheers
