Hi all,

Here is my system:
i5-2500k on a GA-Z68XP-UD3 Gigabyte Board
HD 7970 Msi Lightning
2x4gb of G.Skill Ripjaw RAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
SyncMaster P2770

I have been experiencing some very strange problems with my PC for a few months now. Sometimes, whenever I stream videos, such as anime or even youtube, browse the internet, go on Skype or play games, I get a freezing screen of lines that inevitably crash my system. Picture shown here - http://imgur.com/EuHuV,Tnz42. The color of the background varies with whatever the streaming background color is. Sometimes it's brown or pink or yellow - however, what is consistent is the parallel lines running down the screen and the inevitable crash of the system.

I experience this problem the most when I am streaming videos. I have tried reinstalling drivers, reinstalling Chrome (and reinstalling flash player), and last of all, I have tried reformatting my computer.

I have sent this card in for RMA and MSI was not able to replicate the same problem. Does anyone have any feedback to why this might be happening?

Thanks,
David

I forgot to add that I am running it on a Corsair TX850 PSU.

That looks awfully similar to the grey screen of death issue I used to have with my Radeon 5870. Never was able to pinpoint the problem, it went away on its own after multiple driver updates :/

Did your grey screen of death also have lines running down it vertically? And did it also freeze your system?

I have Ripjaws memory and ive had to RMA two sticks before. have you run a mem test?

I have not done a memory test before - I will look into doing that.

I had a 5970 running in my system and it did not exhibit these systems, would you still think that it was a memory issue?

I just did the memory test that came with Windows 7 by typing in "memory" into the run box and it came back negative - there was nothing wrong with my RAM there.

Was that a reliable test?
