Need Help Solving Windows XP Mystery Crashes

Hey guys, I'm having a problem with Windows XP on my file-server. Every few days, it crashes in the middle of the night, between 1:30am and 3:00am. When I wake up in the morning, it is simply unresponsive (the only way it can be accessed however is over the network) and I have to do a hard restart on it. There is no memory dump associated with this crash, and my only hint for the time of crash is checking the Computer Management Application Event Viewer, where the last event is always EventID 101: wuauclt (828) The database engine stopped. This event occurs up to a dozen times a day however without incident, so that may just be coincidence.

So, can you guys help point me in the right direction? What might be causing this? Are there any trouble-shooting tips you guys have?

About the machine, it's an Optiplex GX150 running Windows XP Pro SP2. Standard install, pretty much, except it has four hard drives and power management is set to spin them down after only five minutes of inactivity (to lower temps).
