Need Help securing Card Reader

I just bought this 3.5" card reader for my new build. Problem is, it wasn't compatible with the 5.25" to 3.5" bay adapter that came with my case. A quick browse on Newegg led me to this bay adapter (visually, the mounting holes look like they line up), but I would like to find a bay adapter which I can use with the included front plate (front plate and included bay adapter are pictured here.) Can you help me find one?
 
Why not drill the holes you need into the adapter you already have?
 
Are you sure you aren't trying to put it on backwards?

What I mean is there are usually more than one "hole" alignment in a 3.5" bay and most 3.5" devices have the same spacing, the only difference is how far the "stick out" the front so using some of the "rear-most" holes to accommodate the longer devices while using a hole closer to the front to accommodate the shorter devices.

All in all though, just do what enginurd said. Drilling holes isn't that difficult in light metal or plastic.
 
There physically isn't metal on the bay anywhere near where the mounting holes are on the card reader, so I can't secure it at all. I would drill if I could.
 
No mounting holes on the bottom of the card reader? can you take a pic of the card reader in the adapter bay for us?

It looks like the adapter/bay is setup for a FDD, and the card reader looks like it uses the same holes a FDD would, so it's a bit confusing without pics of them together.

Actually, I had a tough time securing many of the internal card readers into the floppy drive inserts simply because many of those readers themselves are not deep enough to reach more than one of the screw holes on the insert. On some cases, this mount results in the entire front of the drive dangling freely.
 
There are two mounting holes on the bottom, but they're both only around half a centimeter deep and they're slightly offset from the existing holes; enough to interfere with the existing holes if I did drill. See here and here. I also took a picture of the side mounting holes in the bay adapter here. It's definitely looking to be an FDD bay.

Because the adaptor doesn't have anything to drill them into. That adaptor is designed to screw to the bottom of the drive. Drives are SUPPOSED to have screwholes on the bottom but I guess his media card reader left them out because most cases used the side holes.

Those holes are probablly part of a mounting for something inside the card reader not holes intended for mounting the card reader in the case.

Another option may be to fix the drive down to the adaptor with cable ties. It's a bit ghetto but it should work ok.
 
Had to lookup a different picture of that bay adapter to notice that there are no siderail mounts for smaller drives. Well, you could always drill holes into the bottom of the card reader, just be careful. I've done both, drilled into my card reader, and drilled into my metal bay adapters... neither are very hard, as long as you take your time and take care not to fuck it up. If you're inexperienced with power tools, then practice on something else, first, so you get a feel for the drill. I opened up my cardreader before drilling into it, btw.

I'm definitely not comfortable drilling into my card reader. Anyway, Newegg reviewers said that that bay adapter would fit my card reader (well, the model before it which has the same screw hole locations). So I'm gonna pick that up for $5 rather than risk anything by drilling. Thanks!
