My budget is £250 and i am looking for a drive with good reliability and performance.

With all the new drives that are out, i have no idea which one to go for :confused:
 
Honestly I have a 40gb Intel v series, and I am happy with it. OS loads fast///
 
The ones often recommend here, for both performance and reliability, are the new Intel 320 and 510 series SSDs and the Crucial/Micron C300 and C400/m4 series SSDs.

There are new SandForce-based SSDs available, like the OCZ Vertex 3, but some of us here are taking a wait-and-see approach given the lackluster performance of their predecessors.
 
I using the OCZ vertex3 120 Gb right now & it's fine, fast & 7.8 Win Experience rated, using the Intel AHCI sata 3 Gb/s port, not the Gigabyte sata 6 Gb/s port. It's Just Expensive, $300 US, but it works A-OK.
