Need Help picking new card!

Which card do you think offers the best bang for the buck at Compusa.com? I have a gift card there that im going to use tomorrow but I need to make a good choice. Only deal is that it must be AGP and cost up to $400. Thanks for opinions
 
Lets assume you cant possibly wait. I'd go with a 6600 GT, an X700pro, or one of the lower-ended x800's. But still... try to wait for those price drops.

I really want to wait but its so hard since my 9800 burned out and I am going to have to send it off tomorrow to RMA it. How long might that take to get it back because i cant even use my computer since i only have a special monitor that needs DVI connection and with no backup video card i have no way to hook up my only monitor to my only desktop computer. Right now, Im on a laptop but i won't have it for much longer.

So... you're RMAing a 9800 pro but buying a $400 dollar replacement videocard? What're you going to do with the 9800 pro when it gets back? Also... in response to ATIIsBetter (nice name :rolleyes: )... the 6600 GT / x700 pro won't be a justifiable upgrade over his 9800 pro... waste of money in my opinion.

Well if he needs a real upgrade from a 9800PRO I'd go with the BFG 6800GT OC:

That would give him fast speeds, and sm3.0 + fp16 hdr that his 9800pro was lacking. True lifetime warranty is nice too.

but the 6600GT is a good replacement card for the 9800PRO, even if its only around 40% faster

I dont think AGP is obsolete yet. Oh, and yes im pretty sure im just going to sell the 9800 pro to a friend when it comes back and this just seems like a time I might want to upgrade since I dont know how much lower the prices are going to get and when they will drop since the 7800 and most new cards dont drop the compusa prices on older card very much until like a year after their debut.
 
I upgraded my 9800pro to my x700pro, then oc'd it and it is compareable to my buddy's compy, running a 3500+, x800xtpe, 1gb ram... Like i said, wait.... When i had to rma my 9800pro, i went out and grabed a 9200, for appx $120, then returned it back to staples when I got my 9800pro back. The 9200 was getting 40-60 fps in source... good enough for me

Hmm thats an interesting idea. How long did it take to get your 9800 pro back? Oh, and do best buy or Circuitcity have restocking fees? compusa does so i would have to stick it on a credit card
 
Best Buy does not charge that 15% crap. And it took quite some time cuz I RMA'd it like, 1 day before they went on winter vacation (which was longer than my school gave us :mad: )
