I need some help picking a new motherboard. Right now I got the Ga-7vrxp witch I never really had problems with running an 1800+ and 512MB PC 2700 333 Ram.
I bought me a AMD 2500+ and found out that the board doesn’t support the 2500+…Right now I have it under clocked.
I would like to o/c the 2500+ to an 3200+
Now I need a good cheap board to get my system running good again. I have it on 24/7.
I don’t need RAID…And 2 IDE ports are enough. Dual Bios would be nice but not a must
I have:
550 watt ps
GF4 TI 4400 TI
120GB 7200rpm Seagate HD
80 GB 7200rpm Maxtor HD
CDRW & Dvd
512 MB 2700 Ram 333 MHz
Artic Copper Silent 2 cpu cooler
(Might switch to water cooling)

Ok help me out now
:)

price range?
go to newegg.com - click on "shop by category" then "motherboards -amd "
then put in the wonderful search engine - under northbridge chipset: nVidia Nforce 2 Ultra 400 (for dual memory bus goodness) or nforce 2 400 for cheap (as dual bus needs matching memory sticks -
and improves performance 5%, if that much over the standard 400)
anyway, you'll find some good boards (as most all ultra/non-ultra 400's are excellent overclockers...)
My board Biostar M7NCD Pro - is a mere $66 free ship.
The shuttle An35N-Ultra for $65.99 free ship
Take a good look at those boards and for a twenty or so more you can get asus, abit, or dfi, etc.
for the standard 400
there is the biostar M7NCD $55 and DFI NFII 400-AL for $59 - but I think you'll prolly go for the ultra chipset as the price difference is practically nothing...

Abit nf7-s, or asus a7n8x-E. Some of the best AMD boards out there.
