Ok so i am a n00b and want to overclock my e4300 just to get it at 2.2ghz which should be easy. The computer i want to overclock is the intel one*see rest of specs in sig* and the picture is here of the bios, if any one minds helping me that will be great!!... i hate how the mobo is only 667mhz memory speed thats why one of the reason im buying a new motherboard in hopefully 2-3weeks :D.

ninja edit, you guys may want to know what ram i have it is this one.. :O the ram is so cheap now!!

Well I'm certainly no expert, but there's a ton of reading you could do, have you looked at graysky's sticky? It does a pretty fantastic job of laying out the basics of pretty much everything you need to be familiar with.

The e4300 has a locked 9 multiplier, so to reach 2.2 you need to increase your fsb to around 245, perhaps via "FSB frequency override." 1.4v is probably fine for that, pretty sure I run my e4400 at 280fsb at 1.35v. I've got the same cheapo ram as well, very happy with it, although if you haven't you could bump up the voltage on that as well since newegg's specs say 1.8-2.0v (I did with mine and haven't had any issues, haven't yet tried tightening up the timings).

If you're going to jump right in and mess around, best of luck, it's certainly the fastest way to learn, and the most stressful :). Make sure you can reset your bios if it won't post.

Thanks :) So i would just need to raise the FSB to 245 and memory to 1.9v? My e4300 should handle 2.2ghz with no problem eh?

My E4300 runs 24/7 @3.0 at 1.3 volts
clock your ram at ddr 667.
set FSB to 333
up your Northbridge voltage a bit also I run mine at 1.41 .

weeird.. the lowest FSB is 533mhz :| I did that and my comp won't post haha so i cleared the cmos and set it back.. This is what i have now, memory at 1.9v, its at 6% for the percentage thingy enhanced power slope enabled.. :| Im such a n00b at overclocking :(

since Intel market-speak counts the Front Side Bus as being 4x what the actual bus speed is,
the 333 referenced above is what Intel calls 1333MHz - and the 533MHz you see in your BIOS
is actually 533/4= 133MHz ... your E4300 is made to run at 800MHz FSB = 4 x 200MHz - that's
prolly why your PC wouldn't boot when you set the FSB down so low

The bad axe 1/2 don't have the same settings/names as a normal board when it comes to overclocking, especially with the memory dividers. Check out the thread on XS about the board, it'll basically get you going in the right direction.

mind linking me? :D Hmm.. so should i try 1333mhz?... Why dosen't intel have 1337? :D
