Need help on SCSI setup

Ok, so I want to set up a SCSI drive on my system for games. I hate load times. Anyways... Any suggestions on what I should use? I was thinking of a simple PCI card with a 68 pin drive. Not too much storage on the drive as I will only have games on it. Lemme know what you think.
 
The Fujitsu MAU series, or Maxtor Atlas 15k II hooked up to a LSI Ultra320 card would be a good setup.
 
LSI has a PCI-E SCSI controller on their site.
I think its the 320-2E
 
If you have a second PCI-E X16 slot (SLI mobo, etc) you can use a PCI-Express Serially Attached SCSI HBA and SAS drives.

The other option is to simply pick up a U160 PCI-X card (most, but not all work in regular 32 bit PCI slots, check for two notches on the edge connector) and plug your SCSI system into a regular PCI slot. The 133MB/sec throughput limit of PCI will not limit a SLED SCSI setup.

As for the drives, Fujitsu MAU. The Atlas 15K II comes close is some access patterns, and the 7K500 is really close in office productivity, but MAU is still the drive to beat overall. This SR comparison will give you a better idea of what kind of performace you're looking at.
 
No SLi MoBo here but I guess the only choice is teh PCI card. So throughput will not slow up then?
 
Just wondering...well more than wondering I would like to purchase a mobo that could support two vid cards and a pci-e scsi card at x8. Anyone know of such a mobo? Also does anyone know how long until we get more than two pci-e slots greater than x4 speeds on a single board?

What I would ultimately like to do is purchase dfi board with SLI. Use one for 7800gtx and the other for the scsi card and then later buy a mobo that would allow me to pop in two 7800s plus the pci-e scsi card rated at x8.

The new Gigabyte board that everyone is talking about will have that capability, afaik.

Do you mean other than the x8 or x16 slots that most people use for SLI?
