I guess first i should explain what i want to do.... I need to upgrade my mobo, in order to upgrade to a decent vid card. Im also upgrade to better HDD and some new ram.

My current system:

p4 2.8c
asus p4p800 deluxe (http://www.digital-daily.com/motherboard/asus-p4p800/)
1gb of corsair ram (dual channel)
3x HDD (40gb, 20gb, 10gb)
Geforce4 ti4400 AGP

rest is not important.

What i want to do....is upgrade the mobo to a very nice PCI express-able mobo, buy a very nice vid card, and probably up my ram to 2gb dual channel (or whatever the best kind of ram is now).

Problem is budget.... Im not sure how much i want to spend on a new mobo, but with the vid card (already guessing ill pay upwards of $350 for a nice one) and ram (havent priced a good 2gb setup yet) im really not looking to spend to much on a new mobo.

I am keeping my same processor, for 2 reasons. 1) its never failed, and rock solid. 2.) i bought the "C" model because i read it was easier to overclock if needed in the future. Im guessing with a very good fan and cooling system, i could get it to 3.0 or maybe a touch higher safely.

Oh and my next problem....my current machine i built about 2 years ago (maybe longer)....so i havent read up on ANYTHING since then...so im pretty much clueless on what i need.

This machine will be used for high end gaming.... FPS and mmorpg's, with slight use on RTS's (so graphic extensive)

Any suggestions on mobo, vid card, and ram would be a god-send!

(PS: Please keep your suggestions to p4 based mobo's... Thanks!)

hrm. Well if thats the case, i guess i could upgrade the processor...but then that will bring the question on should i go dual core or not (seeing how i dont know what the difference is between the two yet).
