Need help on cable management (pic)

It's a shame to show a picture like this, but I don't have a choice, I need help. First of all, I get horrbile cpu temps, and I have to keep the side panel open. If I close it, the cpu temps instantly increse by ~8C. Well, I tried to hide some cables, but I can't put any of them behind the tray. Sata cables are to short, but I ordered a new ones, so that might help a bit. Anyways, here is the picture. What can be done here? :rolleyes:

 
zip tie as much of thsoe cables together as you can to eliminate a 'wall' effect.

If you can, turn your HDD's around, and route the power, and sata cables on the other side.

bundle up any excess cables, and hide them above your optical drive

get rid of your IDE drive, and replace it with a sata drive. ($40 on the egg)

See what you can do about getting more high powered/move cfm fans

Reseat your HSF

Run all yoru cables behind the drive cages to get them out of the way of the air flow.

Get a Scythe Kama drive bay fan

If you are close to minneapolis I can help ya. I'm bored after I get off work (new in town)
 
Replace your IDE DVD burner with a sata one, then be creative with zip ties...
 
Ninja-Oragami the IDE cable behind the mobo, reverse mount the HDDs, and zip tie the power cables.
 
Move the DVD-ROM drive to top slot, and get a Kama Bay so you can increase your airflow. Looks like you have one 80mm Intake and one 80mm Exhaust, but yet you have a huge ass CPU heatsink/fan that will move more air than your intake/exhaust put together, where is the HS/F going to get cool fresh air from??? that lower intake is being blocked by the Hard Drives and what does get through is getting preheated. Also a slot fan below your video card will help also as heat will build up in the area and has nowhere to go and will slowly cook your video card.

Kama Bay
Slot fans just noticed that Thermaltake has a Dual Slot fan, kinda looks like a Video card cooler but its a slot fan that uses 2 PCI slots and not just one, might be worth looking into.
 

1.your gonna wanna get about a 100 pack of zip ties.

2.since you say you cant route behind mobo tray take off the back side panel
now

3.first thing take all cables completely off and out the case.

4.turn the hdd's around.

5.put all optical drives to the very top slots.

6.turn your rear 80mm fan 90 degrees clockwise. so the cord is nearest to the top side of
the mobo. route the cord along the crease of the mobo and tray.

7.hsf 3-pin wire. wrap it around the bottom of the hsf and plug it in or you can tuck it under the mobo inbetween the tray.

8.now your gonna route your 20+4pin psu cord behind the the 5.25" bays, pull it until it straigtens out and becomes outta sight. zip tie it to the side of the bay leaving just enough to pull the main connector out and plug into the mobo.

9.now take the 4-pin connector and push it on top the psu toward its backside and find a spot to zip tie it and remember to leave enough room to bring it down and follow the mobo crease and connect it.

10.now we will work on the ide cable. unscrew the whole left side of your mobo. plug in the ide cable to the optical drive. then neatly place it behind the mobo inbetween the tray.screw in the top left screw now as this will hold it in place. now unscrew the bottom of the mobo and pull the ide cable through.now screw all screws back in you done at this part.

11.now we will work on the hdds. after you've turned them around and have them farthest from the fans plug in the sata cables to the drives. its ok to bend the wires at bit. run them to the back side of the hdd cage and fold and zip tie them up leaving enough to go to the mobo connectors.

12.now take your sata power cables and do the same except run the cables down the backside of your optical rack zip tie them off and continue from step 11. also its best to use the very end of the sata power cables as it makes it to where you dont have the end piece hanging around.

13.now finally the pci-e cable. plug it in to the card. now goto the top of the cable and route it behind the optical rack and zip tie off. go down to the floppy rack fold remaining cable and ziptie it off once cable is nice and straight at the video card.

14.connect all front panel cables. route your front panel audio and front panel connectors behind the backside of the hdd rack zip tie off until all is straight.

this is all i can do as thats all of the job. i hope this helps its a long list of things to do but you must be wanting it, to do it. a great job takes about 1-2 hours.

and btw nice case and psu i have both :p
 
You need a new case, your cabling isn't worse than mine was and I didn't have a drastic temp drop from removing the sidepanel. That puny 80mm fan can't effectively exhaust the heat being output from your processor.
 
A front intake fan is good. The Scythe Kama Bay is not so good; it will leave an ugly gap all around its front panel. Lian-Li makes a fan module that actually looks right. The question is if it's worth the extra expense to you.

I had a Kama Bay and was quite disappointed. Not only did it have the gap, the included fan was pretty weak, and cleaning the filter required completely removing and disassembling the entire Kama Bay assembly. I replaced it with a Mountain Mods fan mount, which let me add a decorative grill and a cold-cathode light...
