Gigabyte ga-p35-ds3l motherboard
Intel E2180 2.0ghz
Corsair 2gig pc 6400
Seagate sata Hd
EVGA 9600gt superclocked

3DMark Score - 5027 3DMarks
CPU Score - 978
SM 2.0 Score - 2206
SM 3.0 Score - 2736

So my problem is that when i play tf2 I only get 30-40fps. Ive reinstalled my gfx drivers a few times, and still hasn't solved the problem.

I went into Add/Remove hardware and noticed a yellow question mark next to SM Bus controller. I installed that with some drivers from my motherboards website. That didn't help anything either.

I just ran 3dmark06 and was shocked that my cpu was getting 0fps during the cpu stress tests. My video card... as expected was only getting 30fps during the tests.
BTW im playing @ 1280x1040res.

So guys, let me hear what you think the problem could be. I know this system can do better.

If you want to contact me directly, AIM = mikeydotnet.

maybe overclock the CPU. Install all drivers from the Discs? The p35 chipset driver

The really low framerate during the CPU test on 3D mMark is normal....Your overall score is low though...

your score is half what it should be you should get something like this.

CPU Score - 2***
SM 2.0 Score - 4***
SM 3.0 Score - 4***

You should post some screen shots of system info like temps, voltage, cpu-z, gpu-z.

also using a driver sweeping program and removing all drivers then reinstalling them couldn't hurt.

Are you Vista or Xp.

it looks like you are running at 1.2 ghz from your CPU-z and your graphics drivers are out of date.

yeah but speedsteping might not be working like it should a 1.2ghz would probably score about a 900 on the CPU part of 3dmark.

so i upped the multiplyer to 10, so im running at 2ghz. It jumped my score to 8000.

that sounds much gooder now for the real test go play your game and see how much that improved.

Using beta drivers might help him out considering how new the card is.
well maybe but the ones he is using are for his 9600gt.

WHQL certified driver for the following GPUs:

* GeForce 9800 GX2
* GeForce 9800 GTX
* GeForce 9600 GT
* GeForce 8300
* GeForce 8200
* GeForce 8100/NVIDIA nForce 720a
* NVIDIA nForce 730a

well you dont exactly have the best cpu in the world.... If you have anything OC'd un do it, update all of your drivers, check if you have AA or anyother kinda filters enabled in your videocard setting also.
