Hello all,

I have a VMUG license key for something called "VMware vCloud Suite Standard Licensed for 2 physical CPUs (unlimited cores per CPU)" which seems to be a superset of vSphere features.

I plan to permanently disconnect this physical machine and repurpose it. I would like to stand up a new server and reuse this license. I am logged into the vSphere client and in the "Licensed Features" section under the Configuration tab.

I would like to know how to remove this license from the server. And move it to the new.

Note, I have a vCenter server which has an expired license. I have a VMUG license for that, but I again will be using new hardware. I do not have the host in the vCenter inventory.

Thanks!

Just use the license on the new host. It doesn't call home or anything with it - VC does the license checks.

Yes, after 60 days, and even then all you have to do is reassign the license in the VC license section.
