Alright, well here is what i am going to be doing. There is this guy who just bought a really sweet 3 story, 4-5 bedroom 3 million dollar boat. He wants me and this guy I know to totally wire up this ship. He wants a full 5.1 maybe 7.1 true surround sound system in his living room, then he wants 5 LCD TVs (one in each room) spread throughout the boat which can be used to watch DVDs, Satellite, VCR. He also wants them all to have a top of the line GPS computer based program on them and wants to be able to store all his DVDs in the computer for later playback. Here is what i was thinking. I could build a Home Theater PC type deal with Windows XP Media Center Edition on it. That can be used to play DVDs, tun in TV/satellite with a capture/tuner card, and whatever i might need for GPS. Then we will have the VGA signal split and amplified and ran to all the LCD TVs around the boat. This whole integrated system MUST BE SUPER USER FRIENDLY. So here are some areas that i need some feedback/help in before we get into this huge setup

1. Would Windows XP Media Center Edition be the right way to go? Is there any way to just buy a copy of WIndows Xp Media Center Ed. and build my own computer, if so where? All i see on the microsoft site is prebuild WIndows XP MCE PCs.. ??
2. Is there any EASY way for him to be able to put a DVD in the computer, then have it copied and stored on the computer for playback through Windows XP Media Center Edition? (hard drive space is not an issue, nor is money). What is the most simple and reliable way to do this??
3. DVD is going to run from the computer, then the optical audio will be sent to a Dolby Digital Receiver for decoding and then to the speakers... what is the best sound card with Optical out so that the Dolby Digital Receiver can be used to decode the DVD audio correctly
4. What is the best GPS system to use to integrate into this whole thing? I assume there is some kind of good software/hardware combination that will work well... any ideas??
5. Any other suggestions on Hardware or Software that should be used???

This is going to be a top of the line setup, money is not much of an issue.. it has to be all about reliability and ease of use. Thanks guys!
