heyas,

i currently have a radeon 9800 plugged into my agp slot serving 2 monitors. i bought a trident promedia9685 video card off ebay to output the display to a nearby tv, since i can't use all 3 outputs of my 9800 at once (only two at a time).

problem is, when i put the trident video card in a pci slot (3 available) it doesn't work. in one slot, it disables the secondary controller on my 9800, in another it says there aren't enough resources and in the 3rd it doesn't start at all. i figured the best option was the 2nd one, and to try to figure out the resources problem myself.

however it's not a simple irq problem: the trident video card gets assigned irq 5 nicely, but i suspect it's the memory allocation it wants that's the problem. is there any way to get around this? can i force the video card to use a specific part of memory?
