I posted this on the networking forum with no response - it's relationship to folding is that once it gets online it will be folding 24/7 -

I've an HP TR3000 which has an Airvast 802.11b lan adapter which has software straight from the install.
Netstumbler reports that the MAC address changes every time I change something on the wireless software setup and it never hooks up to my open home network.
The PRISM software (inluded) shows the changes in the local address also.
I've never heard of a MAC address changing -
I've removed the device, removed and reinstalled the software, tried to let Windoze Tablet PC run it - let the PRISM software run it,
There is ABSOLUTELY NO SUPPORT from HP - other than putting it in the trash are there any suggestions?

Again -I've never seen MAC addresses change - so I'm a bit puzzled.

Sounds like the hardware is spoofing the MAC?

MAC addresses are hardcoded. Let me do some research.
