Ok I currently have a SeaSonic S 12 600 watt that I purchased 5 Months ago, Two Months ago i went to water Cooling and now my PSU is giving problems and i think is dieing, heres what i need to know and what im running is this enough power for my system.
My System runs

Swithtech - MPC 655 Pump
DFI DR SLI
Opteron 148 OC to between 2900 and 3 MHz
2x1 OCZ Plat EB's
1 7800 GT will be adding 1 more soon for SLI
4x 120 mm Fans
2x 90 mm Fans
1 Super Talon Ram Fan
1 Floppy Drive
1 Plextor DVD Burner
2x Sata 120 gig Matxtor HD's

Now when i got this PSU i was running an SI 120 Heatsink.

Now im wondering if I have enough Power for this system and if thats why my PSU is going Tits Up.

I have spend a ton of money here as of late and really should not spend much more but i need this thing to run right and its not running good right now.
What would be my best option on a PSU for say under 250 Dollars if thats possable and what Wattage would I need ?
I want a Good Brand so i don't have to RMA these things so what Brand would be a Good one to look at.

Thanks for any help

The S12 600W should be more than enough, even after you add the second 7800GTX. I'm running more than that on a power supply with less.

I think hte key might be that things went fubar when you went to watercooling. Did your CPU temps go down? And what else are you watercooling? Perhaps temps went up on something else in the PC like the GPU or Northbridge. And did water cooling replace ALL active cooling in the PC? In other words, what kind of chassis fans do you have? Just because you water cool doesn't mean there's no more ambient heat. Waterblocks still radiate heat and the hard drives, opticals, etc still radiate heat, and the slow moving fan on the S12 can't compensate for all of that. You should at least have an intake fan in the lower front of the case to bring in cool air.

In other words, I think we can help you out if you can provide more info and maybe why and how you came to the conclusion that your PSU is jacked.

I'd suggest ignoring fan boy PSU suggestions (because that's pretty much all you get asking for suggestions on a tech forum) until you figure out if you actually need a new PSU! :)

Well it has been running fine under water for about 2 months now and yes i have active cooling lol all over the place. i am running the Thermaltake Armor Case it has a 120mm in front and 1 120 mm in back it also has 80 mm in back and in the top of the case , then i have 2 x 1200 mm fans on rad out sie of the case and 1 Supertalon fan on my ram, this thing runs cool. I have a cpu and gpu block on the water thats it. this thing is covered under 3 year warrenty its only 5 months old, i just wanted to make sure i had enough for the things im running.
It is overclocked to around 2900 MHz plus i have 2 gigs of ram oced too, i first noticed the fan controller go dimm about 2 weeks ago and that was at idle, i thought maybe my controller is messing up then i opened my case and the pump was running but seemed real slow too so i checked my temps and man they were above load temps then in a few mins while i was looking for what was going on the power seemd to come back and temps dropped and and fan controler lite back up, then I started having a problem gaming in BF2 I started to lag out real bad, so i dont think im getting enought volts to my hardware right now. I can't game at all on BF2 i think the load is to much for the volts im getting.
But there is plenty of air moving in this case it runs cool 32c at idle and 40 c at load, my vid card at load is only 35c and it is oced too, so i think my psu is going fubar on me at this point. i just went and got a Multimeter to test some volts today. My psu at idle the fan will speed up and slow down like there is a load on it but there is not and i can't feel any heat coming out of the back of the psu either, it runs cool.
So something is wrong here and i think its the psu.
Oh Im running 1.5v to the cpu too, Opteron 148.

This is the main reason I use AC pumps.

You know how they say one of the advantages of dual 12V rails is that it keeps components like CPU and PCI-e "clean" from the "dirty" voltages of drive motors, fans, CCFL's, etc. A 12VDC pump is probably the worst thing you can put on the DC circuit (explains the dimming lights on the fan controller too.)

If I remember correctly, the S12 has one PCI-e on each 12V rail, so the first thing to try is to move your video card over to the other PCI-e controller. If that works, replace your DC pump with an AC pump because the second video card won't stand a chance.

If that doesn't work, grab a second power supply just for the pump and run the PC. See if that fixes things. If it does, replace your DC pump with an AC pump.

What kind of AC pump would you be running ? Brand , it would be nice to take the pump off my current psu anyways.
Or maybe i can hook the pump up to one of my old systems and run it by using a jumper on the psu, how would i go about that if i go that way.

You can use a PSU tester to jumper the second power supply. These jumper the power_on lead and puts a small load on the 5V rail using a pair of tiny ballast resistors (tiny as far as ballast resistors are typically considered. I come from an auto background where ballast resistors are usually a couple inches long.)

As for AC pumps, the best water cooling setups use Eheim pumps. Yes... same as an aquarium. :)

I agree with the Eheim. I run the 1250, and it's really quiet and powerful. Will Easily take care of a whole bunch of restrictive blocks. Just remember to use a 5/8 as an intake instead of 1/2, and you'll get much better head pressure and it will be more efficient.

Well I moved the water pump on to its on power line with nothing else hooked to it to test it out and then i went into BF2 to play and see if I lagged out and BAM no Lag at all im going to go through it and rewire and im testing right now with the water pump hooked on to an older system i have here running it from it now to do some testing so it is not even hooked in the power of my main system and i will let you know how that go's too.
I looked at the pumps you guys are talking about online today, do you have them mounted on the inside or on the out side of your case ? I cant really tell how big it is compared to the Swiftech pump i have now to see how i would mount it.

Mount it inside or out. Depends on how much modding you want to do. Mine is on the outside. But I have my radiator on the outside too, so the hose goes out, into the pump, into the radiator and then back in. Although I've thought about mounting it above the PSU and installing my own "AC input" receptable up there. Haven't decided yet. ;)

Well things seem to be running Great again, Thanks for the Help and I will look into this pump or hooking up another psu to it, but i have it running GREAT and i needed this to run good, It's been a bad week for me with the Surgery i had and i don't need to spend any more Money if I don't have too LOL.
My Rad is on the outside too so i will look and see how to set it up both ways. ;)
