Hello all,
My motherboard is an ASRock AOD 790GX 128Mb. The AHCI controller on this motherboard is out of date and can not be updated through a regular BIOS update. To modify the AHCI controller I have to update by modifying a BIOS ROM file.
I made a post in this forum regarding the issue. The user "HellraiserUK" provided instructions on how to update the Option ROM (though he does not have the same mobo). However, even after conversing with HellraiserUK via PM, some of the steps involved are just too technical for me.
Basically, I need to find a copy of my BIOS ROM file, NOT the Windows self-extracting installer which is available on ASRock's website, but the actual ROM file. Would anybody be able to provide me with some insight as to how to find this file?
Here's a link to my board on the ASRock website btw. Any help would be much appreciated!
