Need help finding a smallish case

I want to get a new case for my wife's pc. Right now it's some raidmax something or other, and the problem is high temps. She got a new desk, and wants to put the pc inside the desk. I had an xp120 lying around, so I installed it on her pc to help with cooling because of the reduced airflow inside the desk. The problem is, the xp120 is so big, that it's hitting the psu very slightly. This in turn, is putting a little pressure on the heatsink, and I believe it's keeping it from seating properly on the processor, resulting in much higher temps than what they should be at.

I was dead set on getting the Lian-Li PC-A05, and I still might, but the problem is, it's 19+ inches long, and the inside dimensions of the cabinet are 19" exactly. The reason I like this case so much is because of the location of the psu. There's nothing around the heatsink for it to interfere with.

I was wondering if there are any other cases out there that might have some kind of configuration similar to the A05 that are around 17" long. I think it's a micro atx mobo. If I remember it's got the agp slot, and 2 pci slots.
 
Try looking at a Silverstone TJ08. I built an SLI system in one of those before =). 15" deep, 15" high.



 
Almost! But no cigar. That's an awesome looking case, but it poses the same problem that the case I have now does. Because of the placement of the PSU, I'm guessing the cpu heatsink will still hit it.

Would you be willing to give me the dimension from the top of your mobo to the inside top of the case? Maybe this one might have a little more room there. I really only need like a 1/4 more between the psu and hs than what I have now for it to clear properly.
 
Fortunately I made a worklog of the SLI build the TJ08 case. I don't think you'll have a problem with your CPU cooler, simply because the cooler I used is ridiculously huge and I managed to fit it in under the PSU with no problem, the hardrive is a different story.

Nice worklog! I think I found the pic I'm looking for on page 2. I actually remember following that when you were working on it. From the looks of it, it apears you have about 3/4 of an inch between the top off the mobo and the bottom of the psu. When I get home from work, I'll see if that will work for me.

I'm still open to other suggestions if anybody has one. The lian-li silver was 90, the tj-08 is 100, which is the absolute top end of what I want to spend, something a little lower would definatly be nicer, however I'm fully prepared to drop $100 on a case.
