Need help finding a new sound card

ok, basicly i'm in the market for a new sound card because i'm sick of having 20 gigs of music and only 2 speakers to play it on :rolleyes: . I'm not sure what to look for though, i'm thinking mabye an audigy 2 but the prices vary so much. Am i missing out on if i go with the $60.00 version instead of the $100.00 one? Are there any cards that fit into that price range that i should take a look at? thanks

oh yeah here are my system specs

1.8 Ghz p4 CPU
256 Mbs RAM :eek:
GeForce 5500
80 Gb hard drive
 
Generic X-Fi (the non-front bay one) is going for sub-100 prices in the shops i've seen online. Better than the Audigy from what i've read about it..

Exactly, Not many songs come surround. Sick of playing games in 2D maybe.
 
as most of you know, with a creative card, you can listen to "surround" music, which actually sounds pretty good matched with a good set of logitech or higher speakers.

I bought an Audigy 2 card refurb direct from creative for $29.99 a month ago - best bang for the buck. Period.
