Need help finding a good gaming Headset

Hi everybody,

I'm in the market for a new gaming headset with a mic.

I've had these for a while but they've just crapped out on me. The right speaker is out :mad:

I had two pair ordered when I ordered those, one for me the other for my brother. His right speaker went out a week after mine did.

So anyway, I need a new gaming headset, what's really good out there these days that won't cripple my wallet.

Was thinking of these what do you think?
 
i can vouch for the Sennheiser PC150s

I've used the Plantronics 90 before, but these just stomp them in everything. The sound quality is pretty good for a headset of this price and will do just fine for gaming. The Mic is hands down the best I have come across attached to headsets, and I have no problem wearing these for extended amounts of time.

Lots of people here are fans of these, do a search for "PC150"
 
PC160 is the successor to PC150.

Its $88 shipped from newegg and ~$70 shipped from ecost. Although its unlcear if ecost has them in stock.
 
Well, a USB headset would likely means better sound, but I'd tend to get the analog one and a Chaintech AV-710 soundcard..
 
analog all the way. USB will put unnecessary load on your CPU. And the DAC inside your soundcard will surely be better than the DAC inside a 50 dollar pair of gaming headphones.
