Im going to frys in a few minutes here to check out some lcds. Ive been using a CRT for way too long, I guess its time to upgrade. Now, something i have noticed on a lot of lcd monitors is that games seem to "ghost" I guess is what you guys call it. When the fps seems a lot lower than it is. Is 2ms, 5 ms, 8ms something i would look at? Thats the biggest problem im having in choosing an lcd. I cannot have any slowdown. How do i choose one that doesnt ghost I guess. Also i would like to watch HD content on it. Do i need a MONITOR thats hd compliant? Or the video card with hdcp or whatever?

Edit: Do i want a lower MS time? Im not sure what the term for it is. I dont want my games to smear.

Edit again: Is widescreen a better choice for games? Not sure how id like it seeing as ive been using crt all my life. :p

Low ms + wide screen = winner!

You'll also need a fast GPU to push all those pixels. :p

Also, what kind of HD content are you looking at, blu-ray/hddvd or h264/mpeg2/wmv encoded 720p/1080p content?

yea ive been lookin at a 5 ms widescreen, Should that suit me? Im thinking 720p, but im going to assume my new comps gonna be able to handle 1080p. You tell me

asus crosshair motherboard
Amd x2 something....... over 2.4 ghz.
2 gb ddr2 800 mhz, crucial most likely.
Geforce 8 series.

Westy 37+ ftw and yes it will

The 37" would only work well if you had enough room to sit away from it. He might need to actually put a monitor on his desk instead of the wall. :p
