one of my HDDs is on its way out and i need to get all the info off of it, the drive holds alll my programs and whatnot and i cant loose them'

How can get all theinfo offf the drive?

When i boot up the drive only stays active for about 5 minutes or less before it dies

Any idea???

Could i go into DOS and copy the files over to the other drive? not sure how that works tho

You Probably Using WIn XP which probably means your running NTFS file system.

In that case your not going to beable to access teh disk from dos anyway.

you could try Using Norton Ghost to make a copy of the disk.

But If the disk is dieing after 5 mins I would probably give up on all the data on it I would probably just settle for Mydocuments and Outlook .pst file.

i recovered the files off the drive but deleted a few files on my main drive

I cant remember but i know theres a free file recovery prog to get them back but i forgot the name

If you've completely filled ip you main drive then recovery is going to be next to impossible without a professional file recovery service
