Need Help: Fan Direction and Location

nasgul - by having the fans pull down (intake) into the case the max temps (all sealed up with the door on) are down from 70-72 on the CPU to about 65-66 after 10 minutes under load (on GPU and CPU).

Would it make a significant difference if I moved the cooler to the front and set the 2x140 as exhaust on the top?

Sounds like an improvement I would just keep it that way. Do not get too caught up in the idea of venting hot air up, I always have better luck with front to back air flow and higher pressure into the case. I feel as if venting up leaves pockets where air just doesn't move much.

My current Corsair 450D case has 2 front and two top intake with just one rear exhaust and it works fine. You can keep experimenting, but you may find that you only impact temperature by another 1 - 2 degrees if at all.

Also take a look at VGA and chipset temps to see how they change.

good luck.

Core temps throttle at 100, I think rule of thumb is never go above 85 for sustained use,

the 72 degree number is for the Max IHS temp which doesn't have a sensor, so yeah keep the thing you dont have a way to measure under 72 degrees :)

I think 65-66 under load is really good for anything other then full loop water.
