Need help deleting a program

My mother has recently installed peachtree accounting software on her home pc and when she tried to uninstall it throught the add and remove programs, it goes thru the steps but when it gets thru it still in the add/remove section. I need some help on trying to get the program out cause it is stopping another newer version of peachtree from working. She installed the newer version and thought it would work over it and it says it cant be open cause of another instance of peachtree running. I went looked at it but cant see any instances of it running. If anyone can help out I would appreciate it.

I had this happen with a different program.....I had to reinstall the original and then unistall a second time.

It worked for me.

You can either dig through the registry and manually remove all traces of the older version, or try running CCleaner... it might do the trick.

And the method above should work as well, reinstall the old version and use the built in uninstaller to get rid of it...

I will try the ccleaner. Also she said that she had already tried to reinstall it and it wouldnt even work as well. But I will give that a try as well.
