Hi. I've been sitting with this for a long time now, but I really can't make up whether I should go for a 19" screen or a 20/22" widescreen.

I'm gaming 90% of the time im sitting on my pc, so the screen needs to be perfect for it. I want absolutely no ghosting. My question is if gaming on widescreen is as efficient as gaming on a normal screen, because I think your eyes then have more places to go and see.. Also another thing I'm wondering about is that if a game doesn't support widescreen resolutions, won't it be messed up pretty badly then? :)

My choice in monitors would be like this:

If I go 19":
  • Samsung 931C
    LG L1960TQ
Samsung 204B (1600x1200 would be nice aswell since my pc can handle it)

If I go 20/22" WS:
  • Samsung 206BW or 226BW (20 or 22 inch, dont know yet)
    LG L226WA (or WT)
    NEC LCD20WGX² (expensive though)

I would seriously appreciate any help, whether to go widescreen or not, and then which screen to take. :)

By the way, I am sitting about 70cm away from my screen if that info is needed.

Thanks!

yea that is adquate for the larger screens .. would be kind of a waste on the smaller ones

i say go 20-22 for sure if you can afford it

not sure which one though sorry .. i'm as confused as the rest of them...

if you game that much then most people would say a TN panel is best but most if not all 22 inchers are TN so.......

how sensitive are you to price?

The price of the NEC is the highest I would go (500-550$).

I'm just worried and don't know much about widescreens and especially gaming with them. I fear that I'm gonna have to actually move my head around to be able to see the whole screen. It has to be efficient for me to game on. :)

then i would say the 206bw looks dead sexy ...

not for sale till feb. though i think

i don't think you'll have a problem with efficiency etc.... you'll adjust and it will probably end up being an advantage ...

edit: what do you play?
