This coming semester I will be moving back into a small college apartment. It is furnished, and the desks provided are very shallow. I currently use a 32" LG TV as my main monitor with an old viewsonic vx2025wm on an arm as a secondary monitor. and I know this will not work at the new arrangement.
I have been looking around at monitors and am quite overwhelmed by the selection out there, but from what I have read on these forums, not all these monitors are created equal. So I am hoping to tap on the infinite knowledge of the forum to guide me to the best possible choice
requirements:
I would like to go to a multi-monitor setup, either 2x27", 2x24" or 3x"24/23 inch. I do not do any photography or tasks that require exact colors. One of these monitors would also act as a display for an xbox 360/xbox one. In this multi display setup, I would probably only play games on one of the monitors at a time because I Do not have the graphics card to support multi-monitors at decent settings.
The monitor MUST have at least these items
VESA Mounts
HDMI input (for above xbox's)
Budget is in the $600 range, but if spending an extra $100 or so will give me a much better experience, I am willing to go there.
One specific question I have regarding the asus vg248qe : Is the 144hz only though the DVI port? or will the Xbox's be able to take advantage of the higher refresh rate?
Thanks in advance!
