Need help choosing card

I am looking to upgrade my video card. I have been looking at the GTX260s and HD4870s. I will be using it to game and watch HD movies. Games such as COD4, Grid and Mass Effect. Monitor is 22" 1680X1050. I would prefer Nvidia but am willing to try ATI. Budget is around $150, prices can include MIR.

I'm running the 4870 with a similar monitor. All the games you mention run great at full resoultion. I suppose both cards are great, it just will come down to brand preference.

OP, please list ALL your specs when asking for upgrade help especially for a video card.

The specs will be changing around Christmas time with a new build. This card will be for that build but I'm buying it now and using it in this computer. Right now specs are:
Q6600 @ stock 2.4
3GB DDR2-PC5300
My motherboard only has a PCI-E x16 1.0, not 2.0 but like I said this card will be going in a new build in a few months.

gtx 260 will be better or a 4870 1GB. THey have a Vapor X 1GB 4870 for 150 shipped.
