I'm using an old deskjet 612c (yuck, tell me about it heh)

I'm looking for a Printer/Copier/Scanner/Fax with photo quality capabilities for $250 or less...any suggestions?

HP PSC240 or something. I forget the model number, but I can find it for you. It does everything, including photo printing. I bought one for a friend of mine, and he loves it. The output from it is amazing too.

it's the hp psc2410

Damn...I forgot the 1. :)

It's an awesome all-in-one. Even has card slots for memory cards.

Have you looked at the Epson RX500? It does everything except fax. It even has adaptors for slides and negatives. I don't think any AIO has better scan or photo quality.

If you don't really need the fax, I'd check it out.

I vote for the 2410. If you dont need the card readers...you can get the version bellow...prints and scans the same

I just got my Laser Jet 1012 and I love it. Doesn't meet your photo requirements, since it's b/w only, but for me it's perfect.

To play the dark horse...

You could also go for a cheap laserjet and cheap scanner, and keep your current inkjet printer for those occasional color jobs.

I like my Samsung ML-1710 (inexpensive laser printer), and I'm sure you can find a decent scanner in the $100 range. Best Buy has the ML-1710 for $200 w/ a $100 mail-in rebate.

thanks OtakarJr,

the rex500 wins...the fax isn't needed enough to warrant the $50 .
