Need Help choosing a gfx card

hey guys.
i need help choosing a card or my computer. im an idiot am not sure what to get. this is what i would like it to do, handle bf2 and the new oblivion game. im currently using a 9600xt which is just outdated. i also use a 32" lcd for my monitor and would really like for it to use it well, heres the monittor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824022006. and it also needs dvi. i believe my computer is pci, its for sure not express. please send me a link with your suggestions or comments on what you would do. thanx
 
I upgraded my card to a 6800 ultra recently, also in order to play Oblivion (which was just pushed back to "early 2006"... doh). It depends how much you want to spend, but the cards around the 6800GT/ultra are a nice sweet spot for price/performance, especially if you buy used from the trade forum here or on eBay. According to this thread on the Oblivion forums:

Surely not PCI-Express, and I'm sure that 9600XT is not PCI, either. And a 32" monitor? So random.. :p

Anyway, don't know why that thread on the Oblivion forums is worth a crap here, and that list doesn't really help. No offense, just an odd link. But since you're stuck with AGP, you're limited to X850XT PE or a 6800Ultra, max. Of that list posted, here are the cards you can use:

* Radeon X800
* GeForce 6800
* Radeon X800GTO
* Radeon X800pro
* Radeon X850pro
* GeForce 6800GT
* Radeon X800XL
* GeForce 6800ultra
* Radeon X800XT
* Radeon X850XT
* Radeon X800XT Platinum Edition
* Radeon X850XT Platinum Edition

I've had the opportunity to enjoy a X800XL, not sure how they stack amongst AGP cards (or if some of these X800GTO's can flash to X850XTPE).
 
I posted the link to the Oblivion forums because he said he was upgrading to play Oblivion. Thus, a thread with a list of what Oblivion devs consider "high-end" is of complete relevancy.

ooOOoh, now I'm the dork. Only saw him reference BF2, quick look at his post made me bite my cheek. Sorry for any flak.
