Need help building first computer

I am putting together a P4 2.8ghz HT, ASUS P4P800, Mushkin 512mb, ATI Radeon 9800pro, system and need some help getting it going. Right now when I try and boot it up. It seems to boot up, just nothing displaying on the monitor. I am not 100% sure though cause I am not sure if the system speaker is working properly. There are no beeps coming from the system speaker, which makes me question if it is posting. It powers up, all the lights come on (motherboard, and front power LED) cd-rom opens, just no picture on the screen. I have tried 2 different AGP video cards, and that didn't make a difference. Let me know of any suggestions you may have!
 
make sure the molex connector is connected to the 9800pro...and recheck your connections
 
Ok this may sound dumb, but do you have the keyboard plugged into the right spots (ie: not where the mouse should go)? Somthing similar happened to me when I set up my PC, its embarassing but stuff like that happens. I have to say that at the time it scared me more then anything doom 3 could have done.
 
Well, offhand, make sure the heatsink and fan are mounted correctly. The system will refuse to boot up because the processor will be at 200 degrees in about 3 seconds.
 
i dont want to break down and say what it is. but i found out. The memory is only pc2100 and the system is 800mhz fsb. :eek: thanks for all the advice!!!
