Need Help, best 2 channel comp speakers/mini system?

HI guys.

Here is my current setup.

Yamaha RX-v596, and two paradigm Monitor 9 speakers.

Im moving to a small apt, and dont need this setup anymore. I do a LOT of mp3 listening and muysic creation in Cubase. I used to follow audio trends a lot, but havent lately (I used to work at a B&W dealership many years ago)

Basically, IU want something portable, but not crap with plastic speakers and no midrange. Im aware I will not get huge sound from a basic 2.1 setup, but id like solid sound, and decent power from a desktop unit.

Can someone recommend me which way to go. I also NEED a wireless remote control to work with this.

I considered getting a logitech zx-660 or whatever its called, and replacing the speakers with Paradigm Micro's (I assume the logi's are all 8 ohm outputs?)

Anyhow, thank you for any help/recommendations. If your also interested in a 5.1 receiver in mint shape, im selling it (shipping is a bitch though)

Have you checked out the small B&W speakers?
Last time I was at my local audio shop, they said they were roughly the same price of the B&W 300 series if I remember correctly.

im aware of the qualkity speakers and that, im more concerned about a little min isystem or computer speaerks with a remote control, and good CLEAN power. (I see to much 10% THD on cheaper stuff)
