Need help backing up my cd's.

I am using Sonic's RecordNow! ver. 6.51 burning software that came with my new laptop to backup my own cd's and no matter how I do it they will play in my dvd player and recorder and laptop but they will not play in my cd player or my car I am using cd-rws do I need cd-r's to do this with any help would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone knows of a freeware program that actually works compared to this stupid software?

check the manual for the player you are trying to play them in, most units don't support
rewrittable discs before a couple years ago

most likely you will need to use standard cd-r's

in my opinion, RecordNow is a pretty good program. I've been using that for quite a long time, and never burned a bad disc.
