Ok, here's the deal, I got a new HD and now my system wont get past loading bios.

Here is what I am needing to power:
1x Shuttle Spacewalker AK35GT/R
1x Radeon 9000
1x NIC
1x MSI TV Tuner
1x Philips Sound Card
1x Maxtor 160gig HD
1x WD 80gig HD
2x WD 60gig HD
1x Maxtor 40gig HD
1x Maxtor 15gig HD

With a 400watt Antec SmartPower

Is that enough power?
With the 80 gig added (the new drive) it will not get past the bios.

Please help

You've got more then enough power. 300w would be enough for that setup.

You probably have too many drives on one line. Dont daisy chain hard drives. Thats a big NO NO.

You should figure around 20w a piece for the hard drives. They will be pulling primarily off the 12v line.

Any idea what the prob. could be?

It boots fine with the 160 and 80 but not with all the drives connected.

I also forgot to mention that I also have a cd/dvd and cdr/dvd in there.

You probably just have too many drives all hooked on one line. Try to spread them out more. Do you really need all those hard drives? Why dont you ditch those two 15GB and 40GB drives.

well, it looks like its just being a pin in my butt.

Although my board supports Raid onboard (2 IDE slots) it does not want to hold 6 drives seperatly instead of raid.

Oh, well. At least I have use for the 15.

Jumpers are your friend.

Did you have the jumpers mixed up? lol

Glad you got it fixed :).

At least you worked out the problem and didn't go out and buy a new 800w PSU like some of these other schmucks lol.

I had jumpers on half of my stuff. and not on the rest.

On the plus side I have 2 430 or 420 watts coming to me next week thanks to Xoxide. At least now I can check for bad psu and low power.
