Ok, here's the deal. My husband and I have a Dell Demension 2400. We've upgraded the ram to 1 gig and upgraded the hard drive. (Well, he did. I watched. lol :p ) Now we're looking for a really good graphics card for it. Mainly for games (like Guild Wars and such) and some internet browsing. What do you recommend? Web sites are appreciated so I can show it to him. Thanks! :D

For guild wars, a 6800 GS should be more than sufficient, and is the best card for the money right now. But if you want it to be a little more future proof then I say go with a 7800 GS or 7800 GT. But whichever way you wanna go make sure and get the right kind of card. Find out if your motherboards supports PCI-Express or AGP and then get that card. Also make sure a get a card from one of these excellent manufacturers. Also I know I am a little biased but I am a huge fan of NVIDIA cards, so I do recommend them highly

XFX
MSI
ASUS
Gainward
BFG

All good cards.... but something about the Dell 2400 screams "NO PCI-E IN HERE" so the first card is out. Now I'm willing to bet that if it even has an AGP slot, it'll only be 4x so the second card would be a waste of money. The third card sould do fine in a 4X slot. In case you dont have AGP at all, here's what I would buy:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814139166
or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143032
Either of these cards should boost you up some, and come in standard PCI.

Lets assume you do have AGP. I would go for:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102666
or cheaper
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102673
These both are cheap and support Open GL 2.0 as opposed to 1.4, 1.5, ect. which is nice to have. Running them in 4X should be fine.

So I just did a search on your dell computer. The problem you are gonna come across is you dont even have an agp slot. You can only use PCI based graphics which are going to be low-end. I'd say this is your best bet.

Its kinda old, but it does have 256 mb of ddr ram which will help with textures. Just don't expect all the fancy direct x 9.0c features. Also keep your resolution low, otherwise its really gonna chug this card in games. Games like Guild Wars and WoW should be good though, because they scale down for older hardware.
