Hey guys, so last night I tried to play some BF2. This was the first time I played the game since I got my new card on my sig rig. The game ran fine, but I took notice to the fact that my AA was broken. No matter what I tried in CCC or in game, AA was not working. Also, when I tried to force AA in CCC the game became "jerky". I would appreciate any help! Thanks.

Need help! 4870 and BF2.

I haven't played BF2 in a while, but i'm pretty sure that AA only works as an in-game setting.
What I would do with nvidia drivers, was set it to run to "enhance the application setting" and it seemed to work.
I'm not much of an AA user, so I forget if there's a similar setting in ATi drivers.

Thanks for the replies, I'll try out all of what was mentioned. As far as nVidia, this is my first ATi card since the 97/9800 days. With my old SLi setup I was able to force AA in the NV control panel. CCC seems to prefer a different method it would seem.

To get it working on my 4870X2 I had to directly edit the text config file for the video (where escapes me). I was able to set the samples in there. That worked for me. Nothing else did.
what I had to do was, turn CCC settings to application controlled under AA. Then once its marked to be controlled by application in CCC. Go into the game video menu and select the AA method you want. BF2 only works with its own AA extra AA dont work.

Yeah this is what I ended up doing. Sucks though, because with my old nV setup, extra AA worked like a charm. I think in my next build I may go back to NV.
