Hey guys,

I'm gonna be building my first rig, please see below for more info:

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc

Gaming (1920x1200)

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
1,500, tax and shipping included

3) Where do you live?

NY
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=18345206

6) Will you be overclocking?

no

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?

24" Dell ultrasharp

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?

in two weeks

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.

no preference

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?

Windows 7 64 bit oem

So, are all the parts I have compatible? Is there anything I should change?

If you're not overclocking, then you don't need the i5-2500K, the Z68 motherboard, or DDR3 1333 RAM.

What games are you playing? At what level of visual quality?

Is a modular power supply a must-have for you?

Everything will work together that you have there. Do you really need whatever extra features on your that mobo? I used to think paying the extra premium is nice, but I doubt you will see much of any difference getting a board thats below the $150 mark. I would drop the ram down to 1333MHz as that doesn't effect the performance. I think you maybe able to get away with a quality 650W modular PSU as well. You can put those funds towards getting a SSD that will actually make a difference in how the system performs.

EDIT: Yeah what the poster above me said. Drop it down to a Core i5 2400 and H67 board and that will drop the price even further. Missed the none overclocking as the 2500K/Z68 threw me off.

EDIT Again: We can get a semi idea of what kind of parts to get, but depending on the combos or coupons going on at Newegg at the time it would be best to finalize the build when you will be getting it.

This rig will mainly be for playing BF3 on high. Modular power supply is not really must have for me but it helps.

Ok just curious. This is what I came up with that fits you better due to not overclocking:

DVD Drive - $19.99
Case - $89.99
HDD - $59.99
GPU - $459.99
PSU - $119.99
Memory - $49.99
Motherboard - $84.99
CPU - $194.99
OS - $94.99
SSD - $214.99

Total = $1,397.22 w/ shipping plus $30 worth of MIRs if you send them in. Basically the same performance, plus you get a 128GB SSD with in the same price range.

You can still get a regular 2500 non K edition if you really want one of those of course, but there is no reason to spend $200 on mobo that you won't really use is all.
