I searched in the archived threads, and didn't find enough information. Mostly on the 23" though, and how the HP is better due to the input and PiP.

But now for the 20". I understand its still 16ms like all the other new apple displays. Is this better than the Dell fp2001? This is a widescreen too.

anyone have comments on this LCD? pros/cons. picture quality etc.
thanks in advance.

I would like some info on this monitor used with a PC too.

Does it work in textmode? can you see the Bios?! Can you play games in native resolutions or are they always in widescreen?!

I'd love to find more info on the 20" too, I think I'm going to buy one soon but I am weary about using it on a PC. I know some games have a settings that you can alter to play widescreen, but which games I am unsure but I would assume that newer games would allow for that. I looked at apples website and the resolutions are odd, but I think that is probably due to being a widescreen? Hey any apple people out there know any info on using a cinema on a pc please chime in!

The apple website says this about using it on a PC

So long as your graphics card supports DVI with DDC technology for widescreen viewing, you should be able to use these Apple displays with a PC.

Now is this a normal DVI port on most graphics cards?

One thing to keep in mind about the Apple display is it has a slight tint shift to the pink side. Every one I have seen has this. It’s been mentioned in this forum forever.

Something to keep in mind.

bah you guys were too late, and you forced me to buy the HP 23" . Damn you !

Hahahhaha, not like you didnt want it.

Guys I've used the apple monitors and though they are nice; they can be a pain in the ass to get working right. Also when used with a PC you DON'T have any way to really adjust the color, brightness and things like that. You have to buy an adapter (roughly an extra $100.00) in order for them to work properly with PC video cards.

Another thing to keep in mind is that these Apple Cinema screens have issues with ATI cards. I can't speak for all ATI cards but I do know that the 9800 series of cards has issues with them. I tried the 9800 Pro and XT with no luck of getting it to work right. The nVidia cards however do work. I tried the Ti series all the way up to the FX series of cards and for some reason they all seemed to work just fine.

I just ordered the L2335 23" LCD by HP. I have it on 2nd day so I'll report back my findings with this bad boy. From what I have heard this monitor should be a good one! :)

Did you get your HP yet? I see you said you ordered it! I think you went with the better choice! :)

yeah ive had it since last monday. its great

I should have mine this week.

What games have you played on it and what resolutions are you running while playing them?

Far Cry w/ 1.2 patch i play @ 1920x1200 using Very High setting. smooth, couple times it stutters at intense scenes, but thats mainly due to me only tunning 512mb single channel.

Counter Strike Source i run at 1920x1200 no AA

Halo is a hog, i only run it at 1280x1024

doom3 i cant figure out the setting to play widescreen.

Once i get another stick of 512mb ram, ill be running dual channel too.
