I recently bough myself a new soundcard, this one:

I have a big problem going on, and no idea what causes it...

When I open Cubase, everything works fine, the card is set to external sample rate on 48 khz.... BUT when I close Cubase.. the machine SHUTS DOWN immediatly.. (the CPU goes to tyhe roof.. and the CPU overheating protection kicks in)

what is causing this shutdown to the machine? (its the CPU yes!) but why does this happen? (im not overclocking btw:)

anybody have a slightest idea? :confused:
 
What are your system specs? CPU? MOBO? etc?

What are your idle/load temps? Are all your fans working? Is there a lot of dust in your HS?

nm, system specs in your SIG. What temps are you running anyway?
