Hi!

My current TV tuner card Asus My Cinema-P7131 Hybrid is really getting on my nerves. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not (with various software).

So I decided it is time to buy a new DVB-T tuner with MPEG2/4 reception. But now I'm not sure what to choose as I need it to have really good reception and quality, so it can deal even with some disturbances, not so great signal etc.

Can you recommend a model? PCI or PCI-E is OK, I can live even with USB, but I don't need it, I have more free internal slots than USB ports ;)

Thanks

p.s.: I'm from Europe.

I've used both the Hauppauge HVR3000 (PCI) and the HVR1200. The 3000 is a much nicer card but full sized and I needed a low-profile for my new HTPC. The 1200 works fine though.

That's my $0.02 (or £0.0125794075, or €0.0139470014 ... damn that exchange rate!) :D

Thanks for the reply, 4x4not :)

Well Hauppauge is available, but seems rather expensive. Maybe because it offers some (for me) unnecessary features like analog tuner.

But there are cheaper Hauppauge models like T-500, but I'm not sure it is MPEG4 compatible. But I'll check the brand.

I got my 1200 on eBay brand new for less than $15 USD shipped. Might be worth a look.

Well, Hauppauge cards are not sold in Czechia, so only eBay for me.

A local seller recommended a Pinacle card. Do you know anything about this brand?

Thanks
