I'm looking for a cpu cooler (no water) that I can install without taking the motherboard out of the case and attaching a bracket under the mobo. I have a socket 1150 cpu. I'm using the stock cooler on my i7-4770 now but I'm running hot when I'm using handbrake and playing BF4. Any suggestions?

what case are you using?.. actually most cases even the cheapest one have a big cut out in the back of the motherboard tray to make easy those kind of task, actually most or well.. i think 99% of the aftermarket coolers come with a backplate, so yes or yes you will need to take out the motherboard or check if your case have a hole in the rear to do that..

I only know 1 aftermarket cooler with push pin setup and its the
but its really hard to find out in the market.. it can offer for sure a much better cooling performance than the stock intel cooler, according to your post you are using a non K chip so you will not be overclocking, so if you can find the Silent 1156D thats your boy..

Thanks Araxie! I actually didn't even think to look and see if the case is cut out. I have a HAF 922 so I'll check it out. I appreciate the help!

There are some coolers out there that have pushpins, but you will be hard pressed to find a big tower cooler with them, so you will be looking at some of the older smaller HS's, though from the sounds of it, you don't need much cooling and most of these are going to cool far better than OEM anyway. One option would be this.
