Hey Guys,

I have never done SLI or Crossfire, I always just build a new gaming rig but this time around I don't feel the need to build a full one as I can still run most games decently with my i5 oc'ed. I built a new rig last in 2011 and was hoping to get some more video card performance so I could try out BF4 on higher settings.

I have this (HD-695X-CNFC) which is discontinued now:

Looking for them used, they seem pricey to me. So I was hoping I could spend 150-200 on something compatible for xfire and boost my graphics processing without having to dish out for a brand new 300-400 card.

Is there any readily available ones that work with this architecture for a decent price or does it make more sense to just buy a totally new vid card?

Like I said, I have never really looked into crossfire or sli as I never needed it for my purposes since I mostly game on consoles now (xb1 now) and don't want to spend a ton on something that is rarely used. Hopefully this isn't too big of a noob question and you guys don't mind helping out. Thanks.

Pretty much any 6950 or 6970 will work in Crossfire with your card. In the case of crossfire with a 6970, the 6970 will throttle itself and it will be the equivalent of 2x6950.

You could also crossfire with a 6990 (the 6990 being the equivalent of 2x6970). In your case the two GPUs in the 6990 would throttle and it would be the equivalent of 3x6950.

i would look into used 6950's, make sure you buy a 2GB since thats what you have and fairly important for 1080p gaming. You can occasionally find used 6950's for around 120 on the sale section of this forum. Or you could in fact sell yours on ebay (best time to sell it imo because of the litecoin miners) selling for around 160 average, plus 150-200 of your money in a gtx 770.

This gets my vote. Cash in on the miners demand, and grab a high end nvidia card. 780's can be had in the mid-low $400's right now, and will be a much, much better gaming experience than 6950 crossfire.

I don't think you can really find these new anymore can you?

Anyone have any links to buying them.

Maybe selling my existing is the most feasible option though.

I would just sell the card and upgrade to a GTX 760 or GTX 770 depending on your budget. You can sell your 6950 for a decent amount right now with the AMD mining craze.

Plus you will have less power draw, fewer driver issues, and better overall performance.

I see, maybe I will just do that.

Thanks guys.

What is a 6950 going for these days? I will throw that up for sale soon.
