Need case for SFF

Looking for a case for a SFF. I like the SUGO cases, but I am not sure what the difference is from the SUGO 1 and SUGO 2. I want something relatively small that will fit a 4870 and quad core.

I am lost in the amount of cases that would work and be quiet. Thanks
 
I like the SG03 myself. Fits any card made so no worries about that. It can fit a 1k psu too if you want. Its a mini tower in shape but fairly easy to transport. I use a geargrip harness to carry mine around. Also looks good sitting permanently on a desk and doesnt take up much space either. You may want to consider it as a choice.
 
SG03 doesn't seem "relatively" small at all. I'm guessing the OP wants a box case, hence the mention of SG01 and 02
 
The main difference between the SG01 and SG02 is the front panel; brushed aluminum with exposed connectors on the SG01 and glossy plastic with concealed connectors on the SG02.

The "F" versions (SG01-F and SG02-F) are designed to accept high-end video cards. I have a GTX 260 in my SG01-F with no problem fitting it.

I have one and they are pretty compact, I believe all of the SG line has around the same volume. It's whether you want cube or not is the choice but their relative 'size' is equal.
 
My main concerns are quietness and something that is somewhat easy to transport.

Price is somewhat of a concern, but quietness should be the fore front issue. Am I wrong looking at the silverstone cases?
 
lanbox lite for under $80, $65 right now at the egg for window. super quiet after I made the front 92mm fan run at 5v and the rear 60mm fans are inaudible to begin with.

Another vote here for the SG03. If you put the SG03 next to any other mini-tower case, you'll see how small it really is. I think all the Sugo cases have pretty much the same volume, but in different shapes.
 
I've decided that my next build is going to be the SG02-F, it seems like a nice small case with decent airflow. There was a mention of the Thermaltech Lanbox, but that thing is absolutely huge in comparison with the SG02.
 
I would also like to point out the SG03 with two 120mm fans is pretty quiet. I use the 'F' model scythe flex fans because they move more air than the E model but its still maintains good quiet running. The SG03 really isnt all that big really. Like I said its just something to think about.
 
Also using the SG03 w/sflex fans. Coming from a Lian Li A05b (which is small to begin with) I was shocked to see this case in person. Running great right now, quiet too.
 
About the only way to go any smaller would be a Shuttle, or a Mini ITX. I expect to see a few decent mITX's soon using mobile core sockets, but the price will likely kill you :(

Forgot about the Mountain Mods cases. A couple of those are 13" cubes. Not tiny, but not huge, and I think they take ATX boards- opening up your hardware options immensely.
 
A question for raof85. Do you plan to run a dual video card set up or a single video card? In the past a person didnt really have this option but now with the new DFI mobo its an option. If you plan to go with two video cards (not really needed unless you run a LCD bigger than 24" IMHO) you'll need to consider this when selecting a case. I'm not sure the SG01 and SG02 can hold and cool two video cards adequately. The SG03 can handle this better I'm thinking. I'm going to go with the assumption (until I hear otherwise) you plan to use just one video card. Just one more thing to consider when selecting a case. :)

One video card. That is all I will ever run. I plan to be running a 4870 or 260 really whatever is cheapest.

4 gb of ram

Quad Core.

Not too much insane overclocking.

Can you post pics of that? I've purchased a SG01-F and I like to see how a GTX 260 fits as I currently have a 7800GTX that I will recycle until I decide on my new card.
 
^ Wow, so it is doable. Hmmmm, what you powering that sucker with? Also, is there any room for a PCI or PCI-E sound card? Maybe you could give me a shot from above? Thanks, you rule.
 
The PS is the Silverstone ST50EF-Plus-SC (Short Cable Edition).

I can't show much more without disassembling things. The add-in PCI card possibilties probably depend more on the MB than the case. I used an ASUS P5Q-EM that has 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16, 2 x PCIe x1, and 1 x PCI slots. With the GTX 260 installed 1 x PCI and 1 x PCIe x1 slots are available. The PCIe x1 is visible in the image; the PCI slot is on the other side of the GTX. I use onboard audio and don't have any expansion cards except the GTX.

I currently have the OEM heatsink/fan installed on the Intel E8600 but have a Silverstone NT06-E waiting to be installed.

Coming from a Shuttle SB81P I'm very pleased with this system.

Did you have any issues with the motherboards built in video and your GTX 260? Seems im hearing alot of bad things about expansion video cards not working well with the P5Q.
 
I have an SG03 and am completely satisfied with it. It's pretty quiet, although not SILENT, I got some Scythe 800RPM fans and I can hardly tell that they are running, although I'm not extremely picky about noise.

I like the layout a lot, pretty damn space efficient. I would heavily suggest getting a PSU with a downward facing fan like the Silverstone ones and a passive cooler like the NT06 though. Not a lot of room for other quality coolers, and the NT06 / Silverstone PSU combination cools pretty well and is very quiet. I have a Q9300 and it runs at about 48-52C almost all the time. I'd consider that decent, seeing as how it's a quad core.

Buddy of mine has an AMD Athlon X2 2.5GHz with the stock cooler and an Antec Earthwatts in his SG03 with only the one stock fan and his idles at about 30C.
